5 Manhattan West, located on West 33rd Street, now has a complete pleated glass wall on its west façade. The east side was completed over the summer; construction on the south façade is slated to be the next area of focus.

The west façade’s completion is another step forward in the Manhattan West megaproject’s development. In addition to the 67-story office building at 5 Manhattan West, Brookfield Office Properties’ project includes a a 62-story residential building and two acres of public space.

Both the residential building and 5 Manhattan West are scheduled to be completed in 2016.

While Hudson Yards has been the press darling, Manhattan West is no small time endeavor.

Brookfield Properties is working on 5,400,000-square-foot of mixed-use development. The project consists of two large office towers, including 5 Manhattan West profiled here, and two smaller residential towers, as well as a 1.5 acres public park according to their Wiki page. Sitting directly adjacent to Hudson Yards, the towers will be built on a platform over the West Side Yard along Ninth Avenue. The buildings will be built close to the developing Hudson Yards region between 31st and 33rd streets.

In the end, these two developments will come together at the end like voltron and make this Hudson Yardie very happy.
